Richard, You did a remarkable job of presenting a two-day program on cutting edge issues of complex litigation. Congratulations. Each of the panels was carefully crafted to provide the audience with a wide spectrum of opinions so that everyone in the audience could profit from the knowledge and experience of the speakers. It was wonderful to be there.

The Texas Tech Judicial Institute’s MDL Summit is, in my view, the premier forum in the country for thoughtful discussion of multidistrict litigation. The Institute brings together an extraordinary group of judges, practitioners, academics, and inside counsel to address the most important issues facing complex litigation today. The programming is consistently substantive, balanced, and forward-looking. Yet another feature that truly distinguishes the Summit is its commitment to candid dialogue under the Chatham House Rule. Participants are encouraged to speak openly and exchange ideas in a collegial setting that fosters both learning and professional relationships. Richard Arsenault and Mark Lanier have created something truly special, and anyone with an interest in complex litigation would benefit from participating.

The Tech Summit has no rival, and this year’s event was the best of the best. I don’t know how you do it, but the whole deal comes together in one seamless achievement, which comes as close to magic as I have ever witnessed. What really impresses me is the exceedingly high quality of the panels and the collegiality and good will of every participant. People always disagree agreeably, which is because you set the tone from the outset.
