Don Massey is an accomplished alternative dispute practitioner, having vast experience as a mediator, arbitrator, and special master. His decades of experience as an expert litigator in complex civil cases, mass torts, and class actions, combined with his extensive complex transactional practice, inform Mr. Massey’s approach to empowering parties to resolve seemingly intractable litigation. Mr. Massey has emerged as a recognized alternative dispute resolution system which produced a 97% success rate for over 4,000 first party insurance cases arising from natural disasters across Louisiana. Mr. Massey attributes his track record of success as a mediator to assessing the unique character of every case and effectively lead to a satisfactory resoluntion for all parties.
He continues his rich history of representing clients in a broad range of matters, including litigation, oil and gas transactions, and general advices as Of Counsel with Couhig Partners. Don also serves as inside general counsel for two diverse oilfield service companies and provides similar outside counsel services to several others. This work has included non-public mergers and acquisition, major capital acquisition and divesture projects, contract review and negotiation, oversight of litigation in multiple jurisdictions, and general advices.
