David R. Herndon is a retired United States District Judge with 45 years of combined legal experience. Herndon spent 14 years as a trial lawyer and 27 years as a judge, plus over four years pre-JD in investigation, legal research, labor submission crafting and drafting settlement brochures. His expertise lies in trial strategy, complex litigation management and mediation.

Following retirement from the bench, his decades of experience in the trial lawyer and trial judge arena are transferable to the private sector for all aspects of complex litigation, mediation and arbitration. Over the course of his career, David Herndon engaged in hundreds of negotiated settlements as an advocate. He conducted, supervised and managed countless mediations and co-mediations as a neutral judicial officer. Herndon’s mediation experience includes mass tort, mass action, patents as well as personal injury suits and product liability cases.
