Loren Lampert serves as Judge of the 9th Judicial District Court in the State of Louisiana.
Loren’s journey in public service is marked by a profound dedication to justice and a commitment to making a positive impact on his community. His career began in 1986 when, at the age of 19, he embarked on his crime-fighting mission as a Deputy Sheriff after completing high school at Tioga.
In 1988, Loren took his dedication to Alexandria Police, where he served until 1994, showcasing his commitment to maintaining law and order. Following this, he pursued higher education, entering law school and graduating magna cum laude. Loren’s legal acumen led him to become a state prosecutor in 1997, a role in which he has excelled, handling thousands of cases and conducting over 200 jury trials across the state.
His legal prowess caught the attention of the authorities in 2011 when he was asked to assume the role of interim Chief of Police for Alexandria, a responsibility he carried out for 6 1/2 years. Despite this additional duty, Loren continued to prosecute cases without compensation, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to justice.
In 2018, Loren’s leadership skills were recognized on a broader scale when he was appointed as the Executive Director of the LA District Attorneys. In this role, he oversaw legislative issues, strategic planning, policy development, and training for a vast network comprising 42 DAs, 800 Assistant DAs, 2500 staffers, judges, and law enforcement personnel. Remarkably, Loren continued to prosecute serious felony cases around the state while fulfilling his responsibilities as the Executive Director.
