James manages the litigation group at Merck, coordinating a team of four lawyers and numerous paraprofessionals, focusing on mass-tort and antitrust defense work. Capitalizing on his trial and deposition experience as a partner in a major law firm, he managed numerous trials to verdict at Merck and recently managed the team that obtained a 9-0 victory in the US Supreme Court. He returned to this position from a rotation where he managed Intellectual Property litigation at Merck, managing five lawyers in all aspects of IP litigation.
Holston has a B.A. in economics from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from Columbus School of Law.
After law school, he joined Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP, where he spent over 11 years before finding employment with Merck.
