Experience

  • Trial counsel to Boehringer Ingelheim in the first two Pradaxa suits to proceed to trial. Defense verdicts in both suits.
  • Trial counsel to GE in patent suit arising from dispute over Smart Grid technology. Jury verdict on behalf of plaintiff reversed by Federal Circuit.
  • Trial counsel to Lilly in the first three Cymbalta suits to proceed to trial. Defense verdicts in all three suits.
  • Defense of Hoffmann-LaRoche, Inc. in mass tort litigation involving the medication Accutane, including as a member of two trial teams.
  • Representation of Genentech in first-of-its-kind hearing before the FDA on the withdrawal of the metastatic breast cancer indication for Avastin®.
  • Second-chaired a proceeding before a panel of the American Arbitration Association on behalf of a healthcare client asserting claims against former business partner.
  • Representation of The Gillette Company in environmental insurance coverage action in Massachusetts state court.
  • Secured summary judgment on behalf of George Mason University on sexual harassment and sex discrimination claims pending in federal district court.
  • Representation of UBS Financial Services, Inc. in putative class actions in federal district court involving claims of employment discrimination based on race.
  • Advice to Sodexo, Inc. on diversity best practices and programming in connection with oversight of consent decree entered in race discrimination class action.
  • Advice on federal and state employment law issues arising from $41 billion merger in the pharmaceutical industry.
